Just keep moving on, no matter what!

She flipped the next page of the text book she was trying to study when she finally accepted that she was feeling sleepy, but she was determined to finish up the chapter she had already started studying that evening, so in order to stay awake, she picked up her phone, plugged in her earpiece and started listenig to the songs on her playlist, this she did whenever she wanted to stay awake and alert. As she continued studying, song after song passed and then it got to a particilar song on her playlist and she had to pause, not because the song was special or any different from the other ones she had been listening to, but because that song remeinded her of someone..
Truly speaking, she had moved on, from that place of hurt, disappointment and pain caused by 'him'.
What had hurt her most about everything they had together was that she had actually trusted him. Which she didn't do easily. Her philosophy of life had always been and still is..'never trust anybody because humans are always bound to disappoint you'. But with him, she just made that exception, she was skeptical at the initial stage, because she wanted to protect her fragile heart and not repeat the same mistake she had made in the past. But with him, everything was differrent, the walls she had built around her heart over the years came tumbling down, brick by brick, layer by layer until there was nothing left and she let him in..but he took her heart whole and complete and returned it to her in broken pieces. All her fears about trusting him became real, he took the hopes and dreams he made her believe and threw it right back to her face. It hurt her..terribly! But she decided to move on, and move on she did, though it wasn't easy, she did it. She overcame the feelings of anger, bitterness, disappointment and even shame. when she remembered all that had happened, she always had a bittersweet smile on her lips. And recently, it had become a genuine happy smile. Though it had not worked out between them, she was grateful she had passed through that experience, because it made her stronger and wiser, she had the ability to help other poeple who were going through the same thing.
...but the song was still on repeat, it played over and over again she just couldn't bring herself to change the song..and she asked herself..'if I'm really over him, why is this song still on repeat?'. This question played on in her head, as she slept off that night.
The next day was hectic as usual, routine meetings, classes, assignments and what have you..she was in the last meeting for the day when she got a text message from her friend, it simply read...'why is it so hard to let some people go?' she had to smile because a sense of dejavu overcame her. She smiled as she typed her reply; 'i was thinking about the same thing y'day, maybe we aren't supposed to let them go, maybe we're supposed to keep them in our hearts and remember the happy memories but let go of the hurt'..and she hit the send button, smiled as she put the phone into her phone pouch and faced the moderator of the meeting.

And that's the story of an anonymous young lady.... But then, it could be anyone of us in this kinda situation. And what do we do at times like this? We ROLL ON...we move on with our lives no matter what. Though it might not be easy at first but it's very do-able...Because 'time and tide waits for no man'. If we refuse to move on, we would wake up one morning and find out that time that could have been spent helping other people, time that could have been spent with laughter, joy, peace.....had been wasted...brooding over someone that had obviously moved on.

Till next time,
Ms. Tique says..toodles and keep 'rolling'
Luv ya!!
