Keep going...you got this.

I'll start off by saying a big thank you to to everyone that stops by to read this space. I get a lot of 'hey, you haven't put up anything on your blog recently' and my first reaction is surprise. Surprise because I'm awed at the fact that people actually read this blog. Okay that came out wrong, I didn't mean it that way. What I meant to say is... scratch that, I actually meant it! So, thank you for your encouraging words, thank you for the publicity, thank you for challenging me to keep putting stuff up here and thank you for even remembering titles of previous posts even when I the 'writer' have forgotten!
Feel free to catch your sub...!
So down to the business of today

The Anomaly

Hello everyone,
It's been a minute and I have been itching to write this blog post for a while now. For all Lecrae fans, I'm sure you'd know by now that the title of this blog post was inspired by the title of his new album dropping next month hopefully.

Simply put, an anomaly is a deviation from the norm. I was in a bus we all know as Danfo in Lagos state and for the first time (at least it seemed like that) in my life, I met a bus conductor that was actually polite, saying words

My flaws, my fears

"The best way to make a wound heal is to expose it eventually"
No matter how long a wound is covered with bandages or plasters, for total healing to take place, it has to be exposed at some point.
On this note, I start today's blog post.

A second Chance

This piece is dedicated to all members of HP dance crew (past and present). You all changed my life in ways I cannot begin to explain and I thought of HP the entire time I wrote this piece. I really miss and love you all.

Today I danced.
I turned on the radio and the lyrics of the very first song I heard pierced through my heart ‘pick it up, pick it all up and start again’...a loan tear ran down my cheek and I remembered how it was three years ago. The madness that we called rehearsals, the chaos that characterized our daily schedules,

We are all thirsty

"Come to the water,
you who thirst and
you'll thirst no more"

-Tenth Avenue North

We are all thirsty...
We all want something more; a better job, more money, better grades, better quality of lives, finer clothes, better shoes, better partners, better children, better cars, better houses, better churches..the list is endless.

Now let me personalise this: I want to be more productive, have a better job, more money, a better house: more like my own crib, better clothes, better shoes, better weaves, better gadgets, better er..erm..body, yes..more books, better jewelry...the list is endless I could go on and on.

Life lately

Hello everyone,

How has life been? My own answer in one word, would be 'hectic'

I can't even understand why growing up seemed to be so much fun to us as kids, being an adult isn't all its made out to be, and paying your own bills and being responsible for yourself isn't fun at all.

We all get to that point where we get soo busy with life and neglect the things that are needful, and making time out for family, friends and other seemingly mundane things seem to be a chore because all that matters is the paper chase. And I'm not even exonerating myself. God help us all

I used to be the stop-and-smell-the-roses kind of girl. But now..stop and smell what? When I'm

Take me to the King - Tamela Mann

This song ended 2013 for me and ushered me into the new year, so I decided to post the lyrics here. I hope it inspires you too!

"Take Me To The King"

[Chorus:]
Take me to the King
I don't have much to bring
My heart is torn in pieces
It's my offering
Take me to the King

[Verse 1:]
Truth is I'm tired
Options are few
I'm trying to pray
But where are you?

The one who was, who is and who is to come

How can you not believe? How can you look at the grey sky splattered with a million stars at night and not understand?
The more I study, the more I realize that Jesus could have been just another nice guy with good intentions, The more I observe the patterns of this world, the more I understand you and your views about the non-existence of God. I understand you Thomas I really do.
Thomas, I look at the sky when the sun sets and I see the birds fly back home, a dozen or more of them fly back home in a perfect triangle formation. I wonder about the choreographer that gave them that perfect formation. Have you ever

Atunida

Amanda took in the sight before her, not that it was a new one but it was a respite from the white and different shades of blue that characterized the pediatric ward and the smell of drugs she had so gotten used to the past few years. As she stared out the window, she still remembered with surprising accuracy the events that led her to this point.
It was four years ago, and she had a picture perfect life, loving husband and a healthy four year old son, they had been trying for another baby as soon as Poju her son had clocked two, all to no avail.

In the company of me

In the company of me, iThink, iGrow, iBuild.
I re-build the broken walls, I weld the shattered pieces of Armour, I mend the torn garments, I treat the broken bones and clean up the wounds from the battle field.
In the company of me, I re-strategize because times and seasons change, paradigms shift, and decisions have to be made at every point in time...

The voice on the inside

They say: time and tide waits for no man,
They also say; slow and steady wins the race
The say: out of sight is out of mind
They also say: distance makes the heart fonder
They say: cut your coat according to your size,
They also say: think outside the box

Friends

Here's to those friends that have stayed over the years, I love you all!

We all have that one friend..
That eats a lot and I mean a whole lot but still remains skinny
We all have that one friend,
That blabs, always talks off point and still laughs at his/her own jokes.
We all have that one friend,
That doesn’t know how to match colours and patterns even though they have nice clothes.
We all have that one friend,
That always has emotional drama no matter how much he/she avoids it

Philippe

Just trying my hands at goofy poetry! Lol

Philippe, Philippe
I see the stars in the sky
And they remind me of you
They remind me of the sparkles in your eyes when you smile,
The starry night makes them shine brighter
Since you left for Philista
I await your return
Every time I listen to Jeux d’eau
