Current Situation: Vesuvius is erupting!

"Late that day he said to them, "Let's go across to the other side". They took him in the boat as he was. Other boats came along. A huge storm came up.Waves poured into the boat, threatening to sink it. And Jesus was in the stern! Head on a pillow, sleeping! They roused him, saying, "Teacher, is it nothing to you that we're going down?"
- Mark 4:35-38

How can the creator be afraid of his creation??

Let's talk about timelines, shall we?

December 29-31st 2015 - "This year is coming to an end, so is bitterness, strife, malice, bad habits, toxic relationships, poor spending habits etc." Time for retrospection and introspection.

January 1st 2016 - New year resolutions, new financial plans, new prayer points, new projects...a renewed sense of purpose and burst of energy.

January 2nd - 31st 2016 - If you attend a "Nigerian Church" you most probably spent this time fasting. Fasting, praying, crying out to God, groaning in the Spirit, confessing scriptures, declaring into 2016, attending special programmes, sowing seeds...everything to "secure" the year spiritually. If you did none of the above, you most definitely spent the month strategising and planning for 2016 and probably lamenting about all the money spent for December turn up.

Current situation (February 2016): "A huge storm came up against them and they were battered by the waves".
After all the plans and projections. After all the prayer, fasting, confession and sowing of seeds? What about the "watch-night" service prophecies? Is this how you pay me back, God. With a storm? After all the "new year new me" story, this is what I get?
A storm, not just that, the waves are pouring into the boat, threatening to sink it! Where are you God? $ The exchange rate is hay wire! How am I supposed to pay for (insert anything)!

This might be your narrative right now. Even if it's not, we've all had this experience at some point in our lives. The storms will come, as long as you are rowing your boat in the sea of life, it's a constant.
Jesus responded to storms in two ways:
- He calmed the storm - Mark 4: 39-40
- He rode the storm (this is the one that excites me!) - Matthew 14: 24-25

JESUS DIDN'T JUST WALK ON THE SEA, HE WALKED ON A STORMY SEA. YOU HEEEEAAAARRRDDDDDDD???!!!

This blows my mind away!
You are His Child, act like your Father and stop whining.

"“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus"
Matt 14:29

Love and Light,
xoxo.
